Chairish-white one white-runway to room-chicdumonde-erica-johnston

I’ve partnered with Chairish to curate a very special ‘Where Decor Meets Fashion’ collection inspired by the runway. White on white has been on my style radar for over a year. It was on the spring catwalks and is back for Fall/Winter 2014 in varying shades of winter whites. There is nothing more chic and luxe than an expertly layered all-white ensemble. I’m so fashion obsessed that I often get my decor inspiration straight from the runways – so why not white? AND, with more holidays around the corner, white rooms provide the perfect backdrop for festive flourishes.

What I love about white rooms is that you can mix and match all sorts of design styles and they just seem to ‘work’ because of their neutral color palette. However, to make sure you create an inviting space (read: someone actually lives here), and not a cold doctor’s office environment, there are a few designer tricks to keep in mind. Most importantly is to employ subtle color variations and contrasting textures to keep a white space interesting. One easy way to do this is to make use of vintage and antique pieces – they are one of a kind, unique items that can make your room feel cool and collected. One of my favorite resources to go hunting anytime of the day or night is Chairish! You can shop for items in your city (AND pick them up!!), by style, category, and can even make an offer. Read on to see how it’s done…
